Jeffrey D. McMahan ("Jeff")
CO-FOUNDER & MANAGING PARTNER
As a Virginia Tech alumni with two degrees in finance and accounting, Jeff started out in business with Deloitte and then Wachovia Securities. With a passion for both law and business, Jeff went to law school at the University of Richmond, where he graduated first in his class and received both the William S. Cudlipp and J. Westwood Smithers medals for having the highest GPA the second and third years.
Following law school, Jeff obtained one of the few, coveted federal appellate court clerkships with Judge C. Arlen Beam on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eight Circuit. After spending several years handling complex commercial litigation matters for McGuireWoods, Jeff took his love of law and business out of the courtroom and into the boardroom. Jeff now advises private-equity backed buyers, middle market and emerging growth companies, investors, and sellers of businesses, in navigating corporate and business law transactions.
Whether you are launching, growing, or buying/selling a business, Jeff provides efficient, business-focused legal solutions in a clear and understandable way. Jeff also teaches Business Law at the University of Richmond.
